Inspiring Work

Creativity arouses creativity. We hope to inspire other people with the creativity that we put into designing our domino projects but we are also inspired by other people. Below you can find some of the people and projects that have inspired us and might also inspire you.

Inspired by Domino Day

Marcel Hilger and Simon Schneider from Andernach in Germany were so inspired by our Domino Day project that they decided to organise one of their own. For a school project they decided to put up 12.500 dominoes and they prepared the event seven months ahead. They built their own Vulcan out of paper and glue and put some nice domino-tricks into their project.

Making use of dominoes in combination with coasters they also rebuilt some famous landmarks. The project included structures like the Colosseum, the Eiffel Tower and the Tower Bridge. Every one of these structures contained about 1250 coasters. In their project they used techniques that we also use in breaking the world record.

Domino Science by Johannes Linnenbrink and Luisa Lubbert

While playing with dominoes young Johannes Linnenbrink and Luisa Lubbert came to an idea with which they participated in a youth science contest. They decided to test which kind of dominoes would topple fastest. We ourselves have already put a lot of time in this challenging subject and have discovered that you can actually make a science out of domino toppling.

The young scientist tested five different dominoe types and sent the results to us in an extensive report. Their results show that the paper dominoes they used toppled the fastest but that also the dimensions of the dominoes influenced their results.

Eric Harshbarger - Professional Lego Builder

There are more professionals out there who take the activity of child's play to the next level and turn it into art and Eric Harshbarger is one of them. As a professional Lego builder he has been building sculptures and mosaics out of the popular toy-ware for over six years. The portfolio on his site is huge and contains some real master pieces:
