Leeuwarden - 08/11/2008 - “Breaking more world records than ever”, that’s the theme of this year’s tenth anniversary of Domino Day 2008. We are going to try to set and break several domino world records, for example the highest domino mountain, the longest domino wall, the smallest domino and the fastest domino toppling!
Man versus Domino
The attempt to break the world record “Fastest domino toppling” is going to be a big challenge. Top athlete Churandy Martina is going to compete against the dominoes. On a real athletics track of 30 meters Churandy is going to sprint as fast as he can, with a personal record on the 60 meter of 6,72 seconds!
Top athlete Churandy Martina
Churandy Martina is one of Netherlands Antilles best known sportsmen. As an athlete he participated two times on the Olympic Games, in 2004 and 2008. Martina said before the Olympic Games of 2008: “I want to win a medal at this year’s Olympic Games in Beijing. I want to get even higher on the list of fastest athletes in the world. My goal is to break a world record.” Unfortunately he didn’t break a world record during the Olympic Games, but… he has got another chance!
Will Martina beat the dominoes? Who will be the fastest on 30 meters? Watch Domino Day 2008 on November 14th.
