News: Domino Day 2007: Falling into Life

Woerden - 01/06/2007 - In November of this year the team of Weijers Domino Productions is going to try and break the world record in domino again. They will put up 4.5 million dominoes in the Frisian Expo Center in Leeuwarden to try and top the record which is currently set at 4.079.381 dominoes toppled. The main theme for Domino Day 2007 is called ‘Falling into Life’ and the show will again contain some thrilling moments with builders performing live action domino setting during the broadcast.

Since 1998 the team of Weijers Domino Productions have been breaking the world record in domino on an almost yearly basis. This will be the 9th consecutive world record attempt by the Dutch domino specialists which might almost make it a record in itself. What drives the team to keep on breaking the world record. ‘Each year it’s a challenge for us to make the project bigger, better and more exciting’ says art-director Mark Prinsen who has been involved in all of the nine records.

Nine big themes of life will be transformed into domino. With subjects like ‘Letting Go’, ‘Having Fun’, ‘Travelling’ and ‘Communicating’ the domino trail will be travelling the full path of life. The domino projects displayed in the project will be supported again by music. Adding music to dominoes proved to be a successful concept during last year's attempt which had music as a main theme. ‘Putting a fitting song to every domino project allows us to really create the right atmosphere and gives an extra layer to it.’
