Rheden – 26/01/2007 - What do you do when you have worked together with many partners to create a beautiful building in one of Holland’s greatest nature parks? You want to celebrate its opening! On Friday 26th of January Natuurmonumenten invited 200 guests and did just that. This great initiative helps to protect nature in the Netherlands as much as possible.
Natuurmonumenten wanted to open the doors of its new visiting center by using domino. But what can we do outside in January with our unpredictable Dutch weather? We came up with the idea of using firewood to built a chain reaction. The wood had a great link to the surrounding forests and beautiful countryside. Plus it had the bonus to withstand showers of rain and gushes of wind.
And it did rain a lot that day, but the wood held strong! Three VIP’s toppled the first blocks of wood. Luckily the mechanics were waterproof, so the huge glass door of the building opened like a charm. All the visitors were happy to be able to go inside. To come out of the rain and view this spectacular new building.
