Leeuwarden - 14/11/2008 - On November 14th Weijers Domino Productions celebrated the tenth anniversary of the TV Show Domino Day by “Breaking more world records than ever.” On the latest edition of Domino Day the total number of 4.345.027 dominoes were toppled. This is an incredible new world record.
Domino Day was live broadcasted in over 8 countries. Circus artist Salima Peippo hanging into ropes toppled the first domino. The aim of Domino Day 2008 was to break ten domino world records. Beside the record of Most Dominoes Toppled by a Group there were records attempts like Most Dominoes Stacked on One Single Domino, Most Mini Dominoes Toppled, Largest Toppling Domino Stones, and Fastest Toppling Domino Setting. All out of ten records were broken.
The 4.5 million dominoes of Domino Day 2008 were set up during eight weeks of intense building of 85 builders from 13 countries. The toppling of the dominoes lasted for about two hours and created an unique and creative live television show.
